About Kathy

1Kathy is currently serving in her fourth year on the Sedona City Council. Prior to her election, she served as Vice Chair of Sedona's City Planning and Zoning Commission, which oversees land use development review and design throughout the city. She has more than 30 years of experience working in state and local government (AZ and NY) in both appointed and elected positions. Kathy has worked on municipal policy and management, budgeting, community development, and infrastructure issues. She served for ten years (five terms) as the elected Superintendent of Highways in Rhinebeck, NY, before moving to Sedona. Kathy brings balanced judgment to the examination of complex projects and issues.

An active volunteer in our community, Kathy is a Past President of the League of Women Voters Greater Verde Valley and has served on the boards of numerous community organizations. Her long history of community involvement includes working as a neighborhood coordinator for the Verde Valley Neighborhood Food Project, serving on the board of PFLAG Sedona/Verde Valley, and is a founding member of the Sedona Women's March and of the Sedona Action Network.

Kathy is a recipient of the League of Women Voters Greater Verde Valley 2017 Citizen Engagement Award. She has a broad background in community advocacy and a proven track record of bringing people together to reach solutions.

She and her wife, Chris, have owned their home in Sedona for 14 years.
